On the Heart of an Explorer

At times things happen that feel inexplicable, strange, even mysterious. Our first instinct is to grab the nearest familiar explanation — anything to get the sense of safety and stability back. But what if there simply is no answer?

Situations that fall outside our experience often stir up distrust and doubt. We tend to retreat into the reality we know, fencing ourselves inside what we already understand. We slap on labels, we declare “It’s all clear,” or we wave it off — “That can’t be” — the moment something refuses to fit our picture of the world.

And right there is the paradox: the world is full of the “impossible.” We know so little about what surrounds us, about how strangely events can fold together and what surprises they can lead to. Real understanding begins with accepting the unknown. It isn’t the urge to explain everything down to the last detail — it’s the willingness to live alongside the inexplicable, and even to enjoy it. To let yourself open up to the mystery, to stay curious in the face of new discoveries that contradict your own dogmas.

How do we turn that curiosity into a skill? Instead of the reflexive “This happened because…”, let’s say to ourselves: “I don’t know why this happened.” That way we admit there could be an endless number of reasons, most of them unknown to us.

Let’s make it a challenge: a quest where we follow the clues step by step, like a tracker in the field, an open mind uncovering new sides of reality, not expecting quick answers.

Sometimes the conclusion turns out to be completely unexpected, and sometimes it stays a riddle forever, beyond anything we can reason out. Maybe that’s the whole charm of understanding — to live in a world where there’s always room for wonder and surprise.

Here’s to the joy of exploring the mysteries of the universe! 😎
